HTS 7219.22.00 covers of a thickness of 4.75 mm or more but not exceeding 10 mm under heading 7219 (flat-rolled products of stainless steel, of a width of 600 mm or more). US Customs collects import statistics for it under 10 ten-digit suffixes, reported in kilograms.
The ten-digit suffixes separate of high-nickel alloy steel, of a width not exceeding 1575 mm, of a width exceeding 1575 mm but not…, of a width exceeding 1880 mm, of a width not exceeding 1575 mm and of a width exceeding 1575 mm but not… and 4 more. The duty is the same across them; the suffix matters for statistics, licensing and some quotas, and an entry needs all ten digits.
There is no general-rate duty on this line, which puts it with roughly 92% of the 262 tariff lines in chapter 72 that are also free. Chapter 99 measures such as Section 301 or 232 can still apply on top, depending on where the goods come from.
Goods from countries without normal trade relations pay the column 2 rate of 29% instead of nothing, so origin decides between free entry and a 29% duty.
