Analysis
NAICS 811210 is the 2022 national industry for electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance, part of 81121 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance). Census lists 37 example activities under it in the official index.
Census lists 5 related activities that belong elsewhere, most often in 561621, 238210, 449210 and 517122. Businesses that do several things are classified by their primary activity, the one that generates the most value, so check those boundaries before settling on this code.
Its index entries, the activities Census uses to assign businesses to this code, include broadcast equipment repair and maintenance services, camera repair shops without retailing new cameras, cellular telephone repair and maintenance services without… and communication equipment repair and maintenance services, among 37 in all.
For example, selling, installing, and monitoring home security systems are classified in 561621 (Security Systems Services (except Locksmiths)) instead.
County Business Patterns publishes no national count for it, either because the code is out of the survey's scope or because the figures are suppressed to protect individual businesses.
