NAICS 335131 is the 2022 national industry for residential electric lighting fixture manufacturing, part of 33513 (Electric Lighting Equipment Manufacturing). Census lists 20 example activities under it in the official index.
Census lists 7 related activities that belong elsewhere, most often in 32721, 326199, 335210 and 335931. Businesses that do several things are classified by their primary activity, the one that generates the most value, so check those boundaries before settling on this code.
Its index entries, the activities Census uses to assign businesses to this code, include boudoir lamp fixtures manufacturing, ceiling lighting fixtures, residential, manufacturing, chandeliers, residential, manufacturing and decorative area lighting fixtures, residential…, among 20 in all.
For example, manufacturing glassware and glass parts for residential lighting fixtures, including glass blanks for electric light bulbs are classified in 32721 (Glass and Glass Product Manufacturing) instead.
County Business Patterns publishes no national count for it, either because the code is out of the survey's scope or because the figures are suppressed to protect individual businesses.
